Congratulation to Jessie Ramirez, 1st grade teacher, who was chosen to represent Castro Elementary as their new Teacher of the Year!

To show appreciation and gratitude, Castro Elementary celebrated National School Counseling Week. Thank you Mrs. Rubio for all you do!

This year Castro has started a dance team who go by the name of Rhythmic Raiders Dance Team. Students had to learn a dance and try out in order to qualify to be on the team. The Rhythmic Raiders stay after school twice a week to practice for upcoming events. Their hard work and dedication shows during their performances. We thank the students, Mrs. Garibay and Ms. Huerta for a job well done! You can see the Rhythmic Raiders perform live at our Community Health fair on February 16th.

Hard work pays off! Student council entered their float in the annual Texas Citrus Fiesta Parade and brought back a 3rd place award in the elementary division.

On January 23rd, robotics teams across the whole valley competed in Brownsville. The Castro Raider Robotics team was among them. Students worked for months, staying after school to prepare for the competition. We are very proud of our Raider Robotics team!
