Jump Rope for Heart

Castro Elementary participated in it's annual fundraiser for the Jump Rope for Heart Foundation earlier this year. As a reward for those who participated, students attended a sliming event. The top students who raised money received the honor of sliming three of Castro Elementary's staff members.

Texas Public School Week

During Texas Public School Week, students and parents participated in Come Eat/Walk with Your Child. After eating their lunch, they enjoyed a 20 minute walk around our school track. It was a great success and we look forward to next year!

Read Across America Week

In honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday, students and staff participated in Read Across America. Events included dress-up themes, daily raffles for visiting the library and special guests from HEB who read to students and graciously donated lunch bags, t-shirts and school supplies to students.

YEARBOOK SALE GOING ON NOW!!!

Castro Elementary will be taking orders for our yearbook. The cost will be $25 which will include 40 pages of colorful memories, class pictures, and extra-curricular events. We will not be buying any extra yearbooks so all order must be pre-ordered.

Buzzing with Excitement!

Castro Elementary conducted a campus wide spelling bee on Thursday, January 12. The 1st place winner from each classroom spelling bee in grades 1st-5th advanced to the campus wide spelling competition. The top 3 winners will advance to the District wide spelling bee which will be held on February 3rd. Congratulations to all participants!

At the end of the 3rd six weeks, the top class in each grade level for Accelerated Reader points were able to participate in a game day held in the library.
